I own a powerful PC and haven’t played any first-person shooters before. I chose Battlefield 4 to start with, especially since I enjoyed it in Battlefield 4: PvP. I tried it on Origin using the Game Time feature for a week. Early on I lost many matches, but in the last few hours I improved quite a bit (finished 13 out of 6). Now the game is clearly won over me. I bought it on Amazon for £7 on DVD (originally £15 on Origin). I’m curious whether my progress will transfer. I don’t know if the DVD works standalone or needs to stay inside the drive. Since my case doesn’t have a 5 1/4 inch bay, I’ll need to keep the drive outside and connect it via cables through a GPU slot. Does the game come pre-installed with Origin, or will it be part of the client? Also, must I keep the disc in for it to function properly?

It continues from where it left off, as all current EA titles depend on Origin. Launch Origin and sign in with your existing account before beginning the setup. Alternatively, you might need to enable your product key if you haven't removed the prior install.

Well, would you be happy to play some BF4 with me then, sometime, when I get it? All of my friends are on console so I need to make PC friends If so, then add me on that Battlelog website - my ID if that's you call it, is 'Aleksbgbg'

Modern titles typically employ cloud-based save solutions, while many still depend on traditional folder storage. Online games that track rankings usually store data on central servers. For BF4, a DVD or physical copy serves as the initial installation medium. The crucial element is the keycode required to launch the game on your account. Once installed, the disc becomes unnecessary; you simply redeem the keycode from the package.
