Check if XMP/DOCP is activated on your PC.
Is it secure to activate XMP/DOCP on your PC? You recently built your system in Q4 2021 and haven’t changed any BIOS settings. A YouTube tutorial suggested enabling XMP, which made you worried about damaging your components or preventing the PC from starting. Your current specs include a Ryzen 7 3700X, ASUS Strix 1070, and other parts that are generally stable. BIOS version 2407 is fairly recent, so updating it shouldn’t be too risky. Since you’re not very experienced with BIOS tweaks, proceed cautiously and consider backing up your settings before making changes. If you’re unsure, it’s safer to stick with the default configuration unless you’re confident in your setup.
For your RAM to achieve the claimed speed of 3800 MT/s, you need XMP enabled. Without it, you're missing out on the performance you paid for. XMP isn't complicated—just set it in the BIOS. By default, RAM operates at JEDEC-approved rates (like 2666 MT/s). To boost performance, you can either manually overclock it or activate XMP, which applies pre-tested overclocking settings.
I applied the DOCP Profile but it kept shutting off multiple times while trying to POST. Eventually it switched to the "American Megatrends" setup because of instability issues. Note: My CPU is a Ryzen 7 3700x.
