I updated my graphics driver after using ddu, and the monitor didn’t show a signal, so I switched to an HDMI cable instead of DPI. That worked, and I finished installing the driver. Now, when I switch back to DPI, it won’t display any icons and I can’t use Windows at all (see attached photo). Any help or solutions? My monitor is an Asus VG27AQ.

It looks like you're dealing with issues similar to setting up multiple monitors. Windows can behave unpredictably when adding or removing displays, causing the desktop to appear outside the visible area. This can be frustrating and hasn't been fully resolved by Microsoft over the years. You might try enabling auto-arrange icons in hopes that Windows will rearrange them into a visible section of your desktop. Also, use shortcuts in Explorer to go directly to your user or desktop folder. Make sure you're not accidentally using a virtual desktop—this could explain why no icons are shown. Hope this helps!

Open in Safe Mode with Networking using the command provided in PowerShell (Admin). Then navigate through the menus to check for similar issues. If problems persist, remove any GPU-related software and reinstall it from the beginning, ensuring you select the correct port this time.

The port you're using shouldn't affect results much, unless the system assumes you have multiple monitors.
