I experienced no problems upgrading from version 7 to 10. There are around 30 apps installed and 12 games functioning properly. You might face issues if any of your apps are in a language other than the OS. The update will notify you beforehand if any app isn't compatible. Post-update, you can revert to version 7 or 8 without losing data. In my opinion, it's essentially similar to version 7, just slightly improved... I don't rely heavily on the new features.

The concerns about data gathering have been exaggerated. While Windows 10 does gather marketing information, so do many browsers, Steam, Origin, and numerous other applications. Even after installing Windows 10 with an advanced setup, you can disable most data collection options. I verified the system services, startup settings, and feature lists to ensure no hidden data collection existed beyond the Windows Error Reporting service. For those familiar with technology, this issue is significant because it contributes to the broader debate about privacy. Public reactions seem excessive; companies have long collected user data for marketing and metadata purposes. Platforms like Facebook, Snapchat, Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram clearly disclose their data practices in their terms of service. If you accepted those terms and were surprised by such collection, you may have contributed to the problem. This era of information sharing has been ongoing since the internet began, and it’s reasonable that businesses aim to personalize experiences and expand reach. Instead of large office setups, companies can now operate with smaller teams focused on these tasks.
