Launch Command Prompt or PowerShell with administrator privileges, then type the following commands. Begin with DISM /Online /Remove-Capability /CapabilityName:Windows.Client.ShellComponents~~~~0.0.1.0 and then proceed with DISM /Online /Add-Capability /CapabilityName:Windows.Client.ShellComponents~~~~0.0.1.0. The changes should take effect right away; otherwise, restart your system. If the issue persists, you might need to run a repair or reinstall the operating system. I recently faced this problem with Windows 11 and thought it would be useful to share. This solution applies to both Windows 11 and Windows 10. Ensure your system is at the latest update version 20H2 for this feature to work. *Note, I should include the standard warning.* Always back up your data before performing such actions. Verify the commands are entered accurately or copy-paste them carefully to confirm correctness. Enjoy your computing!

I remember on Windows 10 Win Shift S broke on my and I couldn't figure it out. I ended up downloading and using Greenshot as my tool to replace it. Its been working great for me so far on Win 11, but glad to know there is a fix should it ever decide to stop again!

To understand the situation, you should remove and reinstall the Windows Feature Experience Pack. Microsoft advises that doing so may cause issues if you restart without reapplying it.

This didn't resolve the issue for me. I even tried DISM commands to clean up components, but nothing changed. It's odd I used shareX and still can't get my clipboard history back.
