I believe you should be okay for another 1-2 years with the 7700, provided you're mainly gaming. To see if your GPU is limiting performance, use tools like MSI Afterburner to monitor CPU and GPU usage during games. Aim for your GPU operating at 90-100% while keeping CPU usage between 80-90%. If you don’t notice lag or frame drops and everything runs smoothly, you should be fine.
