Hi everyone, based on what you've shared, I currently have this configuration (just over 8 months old). An Asus B450-Plus with the Ryzen 7 2700X at 4GHz and a Hyper-X fury at 3200MHz paired with an Asus 31.5 QHD Curved display. To make the most of PCIe 4.0 on the RX5700, I’d need to upgrade my motherboard... Question 1: Should I also switch to a 3rd Gen CPU for better performance, or can I still see some gains with my current setup and PCIe 4.0? Question 2: Based on what I have now, do I really need an upgrade, or is there any reason to change anything? Looking forward to your feedback! Cheers, Rob.

Switching to a platform compatible with PCIe Gen4 won’t affect your speed. Right now, only Gen4 M.2 drives are benefiting from PCIe 4.0 technology.

You won't gain much from PCIe 4, so it doesn't add much value here
