I started by checking my setup: my RAM is currently at 1333 MHz, but it should be 2400 MHz for DDR3. I found the EZ Tuning Wizard in my BIOS and tried it once. The system booted normally, but I revisited the BIOS to see what changes occurred. Here’s what I discovered:

- Ai Overclock Tuner [Auto]->[XMP]
- CPU Core Ratio [Auto]->[Sync All Cores]
- DRAM Frequency [Auto]->[DDR3-2400MHz]
- DRAM Voltage [Auto]->[1.65000]
- DRAM CAS# Latency [Auto]->[11]
- DRAM RAS# to CAS# Delay [Auto]->[13]
- DRAM RAS# Pre Time [Auto]->[13]
- DRAM RAS# ACT Time [Auto]->[31]
- DRAM Command Rate [Auto]->[2]

I checked the timing for my DRAM and confirmed it matches the specifications. The CPU speed increased by about 8% according to the tuning wizard, though the CPU itself only adjusted the core ratio to [Sync All Cores].

I’m curious if this adjustment is safe for my system. I hope it won’t harm any components. I’ve heard that auto-OC might not always set the right voltage, could this be a problem? Also, the ASUS Suite III changes the CPU power phase control to 'Extreme' in the DIGI+ VRM area. Is this normal? I’ve also tried using just the XMP profile to boost DRAM speed, but it works fine—though it does alter the CPU power phase control.

Thanks for your help, Tom’s community!

Any OC on the CPU? (might need a small one for 2400) - but otherwise, just go into BIOS and enable XMP - Profile 1 and it will set itself up to 2400
