Hi everyone,
I’m reaching out for your assistance. My PC has been behaving oddly lately. While watching a video on YouTube, the background kept playing even after closing the browser. The Windows interface also seemed distorted. I attempted to power it off by pressing the power button, but it wouldn’t shut down. Eventually, I unplugged the power source and now the machine won’t start at all.

I inspected the motherboard and found no debug lights. At first, I assumed the power supply unit had failed, so I tried a different PSU, but the PC still wouldn’t turn on. My suspicion is that the motherboard might be damaged, though I’m not certain.

Details about my setup:
Processor: Ryzen 7 3700x
Motherboard: MSI X570 Gaming Edge WiFi (appears dead)
RAM: 16GB DDR4 3200MHz G.Skill
PSU: Antec Earthwatts Gold Pro Series EA750G Pro 750W Semi-Modular 80 Plus
GPU: XFX RX6800 XT Merc 319
Storage: 1 NVMe + 1 M.2 SSD, 2 HDDs
Fans: 3 x 120mm
Monitors: LG UltraGear 144Hz 1440P 1ms, BenQ XL2411 144Hz 1ms, Samsung 43-inch TV

My questions:
Will an ASRock B550 motherboard (specifically the B550M for $90) be sufficient to run the Huge XFX RX6800 XT? I’m planning to wait until GTA 6 is released and only need a stable system for another year. Right now, I play CS2 and DOTA 2 and do some light work.

Could this XFX GPU potentially damage my motherboard?

Ram: Dual channel DDR4-3600MHz memory package with minimal delays.
Motherboard: You can install an A550 chipset board and proceed, though you'll need to reinstall your operating system as the motherboard changes.
ASRock B550M
Would you like me to share the link to the specific board from ASRock's selection for cross-checking supported CPUs?

I am considering these options:
1. ASRock B550M-HDV works with 3rd Gen AMD AM4 Ryzen/Future AMD Ryzen processors on Micro ATX motherboards with DDR4.
2. GIGABYTE B550M AORUS Elite is a versatile motherboard supporting various AMD and Intel processors in different formats.
Both are reasonably priced for now.
