Your i3-4170 and GTX 950 setup may face some performance limits. Since you're heavily using Dota 2, the CPU might struggle with intense gameplay, while the GPU could become a bottleneck during demanding matches. This combination isn't ideal for future games that require higher frame rates or complex graphics. Consider upgrading components if you plan to play more than just Dota 2.

It should run smoothly in light games such as Dota 2. Performance may drop significantly on more demanding content, unless you adjust to lower settings and resolutions.

Everyone agrees that wait for Polaris before choosing the GPU; otherwise the CPU seems fine.

You're asking about a GTX 950 graphics card. Which specific model are you interested in?

Patience with Vega/Volta. Source titles will work just fine.

The processor should work with a GTX 970 or 390, though it may be at its limit.

In the majority of games, your CPU won’t seriously limit any GPU today except possibly on 1080. You should only worry about bottlenecks when playing demanding CPU-heavy titles. Most games require minimal processing power, especially in genres like MOBA, so you rarely need to think about this issue.
