Never encountered this before, not even during P2P client downloads where you usually notice constant with no interruptions.

It seems the interruptions might be due to another user trying to connect. On a wireless network, typically just one device can communicate at a time.

Everyone's calling it normal but I'd say it's not normal. Mine has never looked like this, it's always been a solid line when downloading something wifi or not. If it only does it for this download, I wouldn't worry. You could try restarting the download. Example:

I'm also affected because my router is simply connected to the main router through Wi-Fi, so any issues would likely come from there too.

All dependencies come from the app. If you send a regular file, it might not seem right. But here it could definitely be. I think the client has some error handling. With a slow storage device and a slow CPU, the checking process might take too long and then pause the transfer temporarily.
