I haven't turned on TPM 2.0 yet and I'm still running Windows 10 Home. The Windows 11 update isn't showing up in the update section, even though I qualify for it. I'm considering getting it through a media installation. Is it typical that it didn't appear? Should I wait or install it myself?

TPM isn't the sole condition. Your disks must be formatted with gpt instead of legacy mbr, and there are platform and CPU requirements (though not strictly enforced). You can either use the installation media or the upgrade assistant to transition to Windows 11. Before proceeding, run the MS Win11 compatibility checker or the user-made tool to verify your system is prepared for Windows 11.

It comes out in phases, making it hard to know exactly when it's available. Want it right away? Use the upgrade wizard and proceed from there.

Updating now might pose some risks compared to waiting. Make sure you’re aware of any potential issues before proceeding.

As with any Windows update, some devices like printers or scanners might not function properly. It’s also a good idea to have a USB installation disk prepared in case the process encounters issues. I started without seeing the start menu after running the setup.
