I just assembled my new PC today and am organizing my storage. I have a 240gb SSD, a 1tb HDD, and another 150gb HDD. The HDD is an older model and already partitioned. I removed its partition and renamed it 'E' drive. My SSD is the boot drive, labeled 'C'. I need to convert the 1tb HDD into a new drive called 'D', even though options B, C, D, and E aren’t available. How can I add 'D:' to the list? TL;dr: I want the (DSmile slot available.

Click 'Computer' and select 'Manage'. The drive letter adjustment feature is in the Disk Management section... You can enable it by right-clicking the desired drive letter.

I understand... what I said was that the letter isn't actually present.

This section is meant for a second floppy disk. The D option will be given to an optical drive if available. You might want to disconnect everything, reattach them, and change the letters each time. Remember to restart after reassigning.
