Hey everyone, I have an ASUS H110M-A M.2 motherboard (check out the link you shared). The manual doesn’t specify the PCIe version for the M.2 slot, but the website claims it supports PCI Express 2.0x4. I’m thinking about upgrading my system soon. Right now I’m using a Samsung 980 Pro SSD for speed and future-proofing, but I didn’t consider its compatibility with my old board. Could someone confirm if this drive would work on my current hardware? Or should I stick with the existing storage until I upgrade? Thanks! niku1984

PCIe can go backward, so the Samsung 980 Pro operates at PCIe 2.0 rates rather than the 4.0 supported by the SSD.

You might have to adjust your bios and tweak certain options to let the system detect nvme storage. This issue also appeared on my machine.

Thank you for your prompt reply. The final update was a small adjustment to the BIOS settings, allowing the first SATA drive to remain connected without affecting the M.2 slot's bandwidth.
