Hello everyone! I'm just getting started with high-end PC builds. I recently won a ROG Strix B560-F Gaming WiFi motherboard at a raffle. My main concern is whether there could be any compatibility problems. The CPU socket is LGA 1151, while the motherboard uses LGA 1200 with an AMD B560 chipset. Thanks for your help!

The i7 9700K and ROG Strix B560-F aren't compatible. They use different socket types—LGA 1151 versus LGA 1200—which means they won't fit together physically or function properly. For a full list of compatible CPUs, check the official guide here: https://rog.asus.com/motherboards/rog-st...lpdesk_cpu

That's a 9th gen CPU LGA 1151 socket. B560 is for 10th and 11th gen LGA 1200 socket. It's Intel B560 btw.

Hi everyone, welcome to the discussions! Be aware there might be a compatibility challenge since the socket types differ. The B560 is compatible with 10th and 11th generation Intel Core chips, whereas the 9700K is a 9th generation model and works best on Z370/Z390 boards for full overclocking performance.

Hey everyone! That's disappointing. I'll need to dispose of it then. The CPU is the issue.
