Check if the recognized operating system GPU is functioning properly on the compatible motherboard.
Hello everyone! I’m experiencing an unusual lack of signal with my PC.
PC details:
Processor: Gigabyte ab350-n gaming wifi
CPU: Ryzen 7 3700x
GPU: Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4060 OC Low Profile
Power Supply: Corsair Rm 750x
Storage: Kingston NVMe 500gb
RAM: Corsair 16GB 3200MHz
Operating System: Windows 11 24H2
It appears the system isn’t detecting the card consistently, even though I can see it boot and interact with the keyboard and mouse. I’ve heard the beep when trying to reboot the GPU. Other GPUs I’ve installed on my Ab350N motherboard work perfectly. I’m currently using a GTX 1650.
The RTX 4060 functions properly in three other computers I’ve tested, and I have the same CPU in one of them. I’ve used different PSUs, RAM configurations, display cables, and HDMI connections. I’ve updated all drivers from Nvidia and installed the newest BIOS from Gigabytes (version f53g).
I’ve tried disabling drivers via Display Driver Uninstaller in Safe Mode, reinstalling the GPU, changing BIOS settings like Fast Boot and CSM, resetting the BIOS by removing power and shorting pins. Still, no signal appears.
After swapping to a different SSD with Windows 10, I managed to boot safely. When using a display output, I checked the Event Viewer but found nothing related to the 4060. In Device Manager, it doesn’t show up at all.
Another odd thing is that with the GTX 1650 installed, I could access the BIOS and, when Secure Boot was enabled, the 4060 caused the system to freeze in a boot loop—lights spinning for about five seconds before shutting down. This might be relevant.
My display and cables work fine with any GPU I install (GTX 1650, 1050, 1060). The card fits perfectly into the PCIe slot, and I’m not using any PCIe risers. The screen remains black after booting and stays that way, preventing access to the BIOS.
If anyone has insights or suggestions, I’d really appreciate it.
Best regards, LarryMan.
Thank you for the update! As mentioned, I'm currently using f53g for the motherboard and previously used f53d when I first installed the 4060. I think I might want to check every BIOS that still supports the Ryzen 3000 series CPU. I'm open to trying anything but have avoided this before because the card didn't work on either version.
I'm currently in UEFI mode, but I've also tried CSM/legacy mode without any success.

The Gigabyte ab350n only has one PCIe slot. I noticed the card in hidden devices after booting through the SSD using Windows 10. Then I opened the event viewer for the card, but it just displayed the installation date and time on the working PC with this SSD, without any reference to when it was installed on the ab350n motherboard.
Unfortunately, the system functions properly with Secure Boot active. It seems the 4060 may have been left in a boot cycle with Secure Boot enabled, possibly resolving itself.
Driver version is 566.36, only use this one as it's the last stable for 4000 series atm. Nvidia messed up the drivers.
I've only used nvidia game drivers during this troubleshooting. I started with the newest ones, but they didn't work.
Sorry, I didn't realize I had tried the driver that came automatically on other PCs where it functions. That one was 560.94 and installing it on my machine also failed to provide a signal.
I also attempted another driver which was newer than 560.94 but older than the latest 572.83, like 572.60, though it didn't help either.
Thank you for the suggestions. //LarryMan
