Hi everyone, I'm putting together my new i5 12400F and want to get rid of my old i7 3770K.
I have an old PSU "codegen 300X" — those regular generic ones that came with older cases.
Do you think it would be sufficient? I ran a simulation on partpicker.com and it said the system would use about 176 watts in idle, but if I add the CPU it says 77W, though in load it should be around 146W just for the CPU.
I also added a Samsung 830 SSD SATA drive, an Asrock Z77 Pro3, and 8 GB RAM — that’s about it, since the CPU has its own integrated GPU.
In reality, I expect the load to be closer to 250W.
If the PSU isn’t enough, I might sell just the CPU. But if power is insufficient, will it fail completely or could I risk damaging something?
Thanks a lot!

Using 13A @12v means it's a 156w device. It's just a waste of money. I wouldn't connect it to any equipment.

A few individuals expressed concern about its quality on Anandtech's forum in 2002. It seems the item likely hasn't held up well over time.

Yes, thanks..anyway the 24 pin connector was not even there, I mean, there is but is not long enough to cover all the connections in the MB...nor the connector for the CPU, so i will just throw the PC in the bin and sell only the CPU
