They aim to offer various processors at different price levels. It seems around 3500 corresponds to 3600 with SMT turned off, but it can't be unlocked since it's built into the CPU. Previously, we could bypass factory locks using certain techniques, but they likely closed that method after discovering the weakness.

They claim the issue stems from a specific reason, but the product's capabilities don't match expectations. Manufacturing focuses on the best SKU for each CPU design, and they categorize defects by component failures. Adjusting core count—keeping 2 active—can improve performance to 3300x instead of discarding it entirely.

In essence, the process is straightforward though not entirely accurate. The 3600 uses a distinct chiplet CCX design, which means it can't be classified as a 3300X.

If this were software, experts would have discussed ways to bypass it (people are clever). We’d also have tested Triple Threading simulations.

Can someone design software for advanced hyperthreading?

I believe the value being overlooked is significant.
