Cpu model: A10 7700k kaveri black edition.
Power supply wattage: CX430 Bronze certified.
Whether I should purchase a new power supply depends on these speeds:
1. at 3.8Ghz?
2. at 4.2Ghz?
I’m not in a position to afford a new power supply right now, so only suggest buying one if you believe it could harm my system. Thanks.

you attempt to speed it up, and discover at high speeds it runs smoothly without failing.

In terms of power requirements, this unit offers ample capacity. It isn't an extremely high-end model, but it seems unlikely to fail alongside your CPU at 4.5ghz compared to the standard version.

Are you asking about having a graphics card? Your power needs might vary depending on the specific card you're using.

Do you possess a graphics card? Your power needs might vary based on the specific card you're employing.
No, just an APU, and it's possible to effectively overclock both GPU and CPU cores as well.

eTeknix discovered their 7700K unit consumed just 101w when under load at the wall. With overclocking, performance could reach 150-175w, contingent on the extent of the adjustment.

CosmicWolf293 responded with a clarification about hardware needs, mentioning the importance of a graphics card and power requirements. They also noted that while overclocking is possible, the gains might be limited and recommended additional components like a good CPU cooler and proper VRM motherboard for serious performance improvements.

Do you own a graphics card? Your power needs might vary depending on the model you're using.
No, just an APU, and I can also overclock both GPU and CPU cores. You can try it, but I believe the gains are limited. You'll also need a strong CPU cooler and a motherboard with adequate VRM cooling for serious overclocking.
My motherboard is A78M-E45 MSI. What do you think about it? Is it suitable for decent overclocking? Also, could you suggest some affordable yet effective CPU coolers? Thanks.

The Coolermaster Hyper212 EVO priced at $25 offers excellent value. It wouldn't be worth spending more than that on a basic setup, since investing in a dedicated graphics card or platform upgrade would yield better results. For those who mainly use their PC for gaming, allocating $100 to a video card could significantly boost performance instead of just a small improvement from overclocking.

This board isn't ideal for overclocking. If you try, consider using a cooler like the CM EVO 212 for better performance at the cost.
