I own a mechanical keyboard with grey optical switches that I purchased for $10 a few months ago.
Initially it functioned perfectly, but after I lubricated the stabilizers with wheel bearing grease—something I had on hand—it began to work intermittently for a month or two.
Eventually it started misregistering random keys, beginning with F11 and gradually spreading to more keys.
I cleaned the PCB with isopropyl alcohol, removing all the grease, but dust still seemed to be the issue. Testing with tissue paper didn’t help; it was clear something physical, like a plastic shaft or metal screw, was the cause.
I attempted reinstalling Windows and other devices, but the problem persisted. Switching to a different keyboard resolved the issue.
Any advice? I’d rather fix it myself than buy a new one, as most full-sized keyboards cost over $100.

It seems you're suggesting the keys should be swapped for the issue. The lubrication shouldn't have made a difference because the F11 key, and the different key sizes, don't have any issues to address.
