Check if the Kingston Fury 5600MT/s module works with Ryzen 5 7600X RAM.
Hello, your recent build includes a Ryzen 5 7600X, an ASUS TUF B650M motherboard, and two 16GB Kingston FURY 5600MT/s sticks (KF556C40BA-16). The specs indicate CL40 memory. On the Kingston site it doesn’t list compatibility with AMD CPUs, only mentioning Intel XMP support. Does this imply you’ll face issues running this RAM with your processor? Or is it just that you can’t overclock them using AMD’s DOCP to their full speed (like 5200MHz)? Could future software updates change this and allow DOCP overclocking? I invested a lot for these components, especially in places where PC parts are costly, so I’m concerned about making a mistake. Thank you for your assistance.
XMP RAM works on the AM5 platform I see no reason why this RAM shouldn't work at 5600mhz XMP /EXPO profile. I wouldn't worry about it at all.
I previously used a Kingston Fury 2X16GB 6000MHz (Intel XMP) CL40 with a Ryzen 7800X3D. It functions properly, but sometimes the BIOS updates trigger RAM training or it randomly trains RAM for about two minutes upon startup. I switched to Silicon Power RAM 6000MHz CL30 (still XMP), and it never performed any RAM training. Your results might differ.
P.S. DOCP is merely ASUS branding for RAM overclocking. DDR5 starts at 4800MHz, and with overclocking features like DOCP, XMP, or EXPO, speeds can rise depending on the RAM model (tested by manufacturer).
For AMD systems, latency plays a bigger role than memory speed, which is why lower latency models such as CL36, CL32, or CL30 are advised.
