Recently I saw a vertical green line appear on my iPhone 13 mini, located on the right side. Usually I clean it with Clorox wipes without any problems. Previously, I used alcohol and tissue, applying a small amount to the screen. Recently, I tried using a paper towel soaked in alcohol on it. After some time, the green line showed up again. It sometimes disappears when I close the phone without turning it off completely, then reappears later. What cleaning methods do people use for screens? I own a clear case that covers the sides and back, so the front is visible. I’m not a fan of fully covering the phone. Does anyone know if this might be related to a recent iOS update? My iPhone has been working fine for almost two years now. I don’t usually charge it overnight or leave it plugged in. Should I try turning it off and on again? What about placing it in rice? Could that help? How much would it cost to fix this issue if I tried those steps? So far, when the green line shows up, it doesn’t block the screen much because it’s thin.

This typically occurs following impact or drops.

That’s your iPhone, correct? Or did you just see an image online of one with a vertical green line on the right side? The picture you shared is from the left, but it looks a bit brighter. I suspect you might have dropped your iPhone 13 Mini recently—maybe months ago—but the green line appeared after you cleaned it with a paper towel and alcohol. I think a bit too much alcohol might have gotten inside the charging port, though it could also be from moisture. If this is your phone, can you tell me more about the cause?

Severe impact sustained; replacement of the screen is the only solution available.

I discovered several options with additional lines and formatting on both sides.

So after some time, the green vertical line became lighter and less intense. Later it disappeared completely. A while later it reappeared but not as bright. Then again, it vanished only to return later with a stronger green hue. Recently it’s been a very vivid green line once more. I think this might be linked to the alcohol you used. I’m trying to figure out if it’s possible to remove any residue from my iPhone screen. Was the alcohol inside the charging port the main reason, or could it be something else? I’ve noticed that using too much alcohol this time made the problem worse. Could I fix it without replacing the screen? It seems like buying a new one might be expensive, maybe around $350 plus tax.

It seems the issue likely stems from a faulty connection within the panel, possibly due to thermal expansion, which caused it to reconnect and then disconnect again. Fixing this would require replacing the screen. I’m not an expert, so I could be mistaken.

This situation seems unrelated to your charging port. If the port you use is wet and water enters, it shouldn’t affect the charging process. The green vertical line on your iPhone still indicates a working charger, so you can continue using it.

This video could be useful for you. It seems the issue is a hardware problem, not software. There might be broken traces on the OLED substrate or the flex cable, which could be fixed but Apple doesn<|pad|> to say no. I don’t know where you’d find a shop that does this outside China. Hope it helps, and if you need something that can be repaired... avoid buying Apple products.

You're suggesting that it's highly unlikely for excessive alcohol to enter an iPhone and cause the issue you're describing. It seems like you're questioning whether anyone has experienced this from cleaning or wiping the device with too much alcohol. It appears improbable that such a scenario would occur, and you're wondering if a repair shop could definitively determine the cause. You also asked about the costs involved, like replacing the screen and repair services. Your concern about the price is understandable, especially for a relatively recent model like the iPhone 13 mini. It seems you're weighing the expense against the inconvenience of a new device. The issue with the green vertical line is noted, though—it's just a minor annoyance for most users.
