Hi all, I am trying to max out my little i7 and would like some help/tip how to do so fast and securely.
I got it to run 4.2 Ghz for about 2 months without it crashing stock voltage, but it crashed yesterday, so I am wondering how to OC and be secure that it won't crash and how to not make it take a month to reach max. I find ring ratio and the adaptive/offset/manual voltage very confusing.
I use Windows 10 Pro with Realbench and OCCT for tests.
Ambient temp: 22 °C
Max temps running 4.0 Ghz:
Cpu: 43 °C
Cpu cores 52-57 °C
Gpu: 66 °C
Motherboard: 32 °C
All drives around 20-30 °C
This pc have mounted 2x 120 Front, 2x 120mm the radiator Liquid cooler Rear, 1x 120mm Top and buttom, plus a 200mm at the side.
Specs:
Cooler Master 690 III with sidefan(without window)
Intel Core i7-4770K
ASUS MAXIMUS VI HERO
G.Skill F3-17000CL11-4GBXL
GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 970 G1 Gaming
Samsung SSD 850 PRO 256GB
4 x 1 TB WD 3.5"
Thank in advance

Btw if there is anything you don't understand or are insecure about just ask and I try explain it again.
That is an unlocked CPU, so you can simply increase CPU Ratio and CPU VCore to achieve overclocks. What settings are you attempting? Did you disable power saving features? CPU C state, EIST, etc
Currently I test my overclock at standard voltage, using C states and EIST settings.
I aim to push it as high as possible while staying within safe limits, ensuring full stability.
