Purchased a moderately used machine today. Former owner had reset it to erase everything, but after the reset the BIOS and device manager aren’t recognizing the GPU. Specs: CPU Intel i7-7700x, GPU Nvidia 1050 (980 included but both not working). Motherboard Asus Prime Z270-A. Attempted CMOS reset, tried using another PC with both cards, and in this new one I’m testing the 1660, hoping it won’t damage anything. The seller bought it as a gift with a lower budget, so no plan to fully rebuild it. Any further advice would be greatly appreciated regarding possible issues.

Intel 7700X is actually the 7700K. If it has an integrated GPU, you can use the HDMI port. This information was updated on July 1, 2023 by leclod.

I'm not aware of the prior owner, so you might have never used it properly.

Use the Mobo display port on your system. The 7700x setup should work with the IGFX, but you might want a dedicated GPU if possible.

Check for a functional graphics card in the second or third PCIe expansion slot. If it doesn’t work there, it’s probably due to a socket or motherboard issue.

Sure, I attempted both graphics cards included in the second PCIe slot. I have one ready for testing and planned to try the other two on a confirmed working motherboard.

I'm sorry, but I didn't understand that. Could you clarify what you meant?
