Hey there, I've observed some problems with my motherboard recently. The RGB lights stopped working suddenly after a case swap on my PC. After installing the new 3080 Ti, the Ethernet cable isn't being detected. I've tried various fixes like resetting network settings and swapping cables. It seems parts of the board might be damaged or failed over time. I've been using this setup for over eight months now, but only in the past month have I noticed these issues. The system still runs normally, though some components aren't working properly—especially the RGB lights and Ethernet connection. I went through all troubleshooting steps, even checking the BIOS, but after a network reset, the cable isn't recognized by the board. This was the case before I got the 3080 Ti. I can still connect wirelessly, but I prefer Ethernet. After spending a long day trying fixes yesterday, I'm still stuck with the same problem. Below is a list of all hardware my motherboard has identified. I’m considering returning it for exchange, but I’m only about 30 minutes away from the nearest service center in Ontario. What are your thoughts? Is this board partially failed or is there another cause? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Specs: MSI Z490 Gaming Carbon Wifi RTX 3080 Ti EVGA FTW3 i9 11900k G.Skill 3200 mhz 64 gb RAM (4x 16GB), XPG Gammix 1TB S11 M.2 S AMOSUN 870Q SSD

You likely already did it, but you might have forgotten to reset the CMOS. Clearing it resolved the problem and restored your audio.

I haven't attempted it before. I'll give it a shot; if it fails, what alternative should I consider?

It might become a performance limitation. The 3080ti consumes a lot of power. Could you share your power supply details? Also, if you're confident the issue lies with your motherboard, sending it to the service center would be preferable since we can't test it on-site.

I switched from a 3080 to a 3080 Ti. My power supply is a Gamemaxx 850W RGB gold unit.

You mention a case swap, are you sure that you are using the correct standoffs? Could be shorting out something.

I doubt the port will work if it doesn’t appear under any circumstances. An incident during the transfer might have caused damage on the motherboard’s rear side.

It seems you're expressing confidence in your identity. Everything appears correctly positioned.

I think there might be a chance. I could remove my M.2 drive and the existing SSD, connect a new SSD from storage, install a fresh Windows version, and check if it functions properly. If it works, the problem is likely software-related.

The BIOS should show the Ethernet port as active and connected. There should be a light near the Ethernet port indicating it's powered on, typically orange or green.
