What kind of crashes are you seeing? This is surprising to me because while 3200MHz CL16 isn't stellar ram by any means, IIRC midrange Zen1 wasn't ultra picky with ram. Is XMP on? Is it possible you have a bad stick? Have you tested one by one? There is a troubleshooter guide somewhere around here.... I would expect either of those ram kits to work with 3600 or 5600x, unless your tridents are borked.
System either stops working or shows blank screen with 'No signal' icon or BSOD. Memtest86+ checked both RAM modules and showed no issues. After crashes, CPU lights up on motherboard. It seems the system behaves oddly, but it still feels like poor performance. Could you try a different machine for testing? The bluescreen view usually points to the specific process causing the crash. If memory issues are involved, it might not start properly.
The blue screen typically indicates a pagefile or memory-related issue (such as driver_irql_not less than or equal, fltmgr.sys failure, page fault in nonpaged area, etc.). Unfortunately, I don’t have another system to run tests on the RAM. It seems the RAM isn’t faulty because both sticks are identical models purchased separately a couple of years ago and a new one was bought last week. Both performed similarly when tested individually. The RAM operates correctly at the default 2133Mhz, but problems arise when overclocking or adjusting timing settings. Additionally, both passed memtest86+, so I’ve applied an update—raising the voltage to 1.44V and decompressing a 25GB file into 110GB without errors. I’m hoping adjusting the voltage will resolve the issue. I’ll need to run some game benchmarks or Prime95 tests to confirm.
Identified the issue, you were correct. The new memory stick I purchased three days ago via Amazon is defective. My previous RAM performed well in Hitman benchmarks (Miami/Mumbai), tested on OCCT and memtest64 for 15 minutes each, with no errors or crashes. The new RAM failed during Hitman testing, crashed on OCCT within two minutes, and showed a memory locking error on the first memtest64 run. On the second attempt it stopped without any indication. The heatsink is also loose. I initially assumed this RAM was fine because it passed memtest86+, which ran for two hours. It remains under the 7-day replacement or return warranty, but I’m replacing it now. Edit: Replacement succeeded. Both sticks are functioning properly on a 3200mhz board.
