I possess the board; the CPU is an i7 2600k. I want to verify whether it's an OEM unit and if it's possible to remove and swap it.

It's not an original equipment manufacturer part, but you can purchase it separately when LGA1155 models are still being produced. This item is around eight years old, and since Asus didn't widely offer a flagship model like this, it's extremely rare even in the used scene.
