I know this cooler performs much better than the Intel stock model. My worry lies with the games I play. Some titles require more than one or two cores, so I want to make sure the stock cooler can handle heavy gaming sessions. Keep in mind the case design will provide excellent airflow.
The stock cooler seems to struggle with stock boosting and likely will settle around 3.7-3.9ghz, possibly reaching 4.0 after some adjustments. I wouldn't suggest keeping stock settings on the cooler; instead, consider tuning ppt limits in PBO or using static voltage undervolting. Negative offsets might hurt performance by stretching the clock. The L9-65 should offer comparable results to the stock cooler based on what I know.
