Well... it’s better late than never, I suppose. I’ve been using Slim Drivers for almost a year now, except for the initial setup, I haven’t really doubted its safety. To explain simply, it checks your PC for all hardware and searches for the newest drivers. If updates exist, it shows them and you just click “update” on the relevant driver. It often prompts you to create a restore point before proceeding. That’s what virus software would advise. It seems to work well—it finds updates, installs them, asks for a restart (sometimes multiple times), and everything is sorted. My older machine hasn’t shown any issues, and during virus scans, Slim Drivers never appears in the list of threats. What do others think about it?

There are numerous pieces of crapware and malware that perform similar functions. It's hard to confirm whether they're genuine.

Among all options, Slim Drivers appears to be the most trustworthy. Many people seem to rely on it as well.

You could rely on Device Manager for the USB devices and their associated software.

I’d rely on this software when I wasn’t sure what was inside the device. I’d probably use it just once to discover its contents. Once you have that, you can download the official drivers and set them up yourself. It’s not too complicated overall—just update the display driver, and the rest is usually a one-time setup after a fresh Windows install.

For the GPU, I usually go to the official website, and the device manager works too. I had no idea about that.

It's also another choice, probably.
