Check if RAM is the problem.
Check if RAM is the problem.
Hello fellow users, here’s my update on the setup: I’ve completed the installation of a new system, excluding the SSD, and ran a test today. The results weren’t ideal—CPU and DRAM indicators lit up, but nothing displayed on the screen. The MB LEDs came on, GPU LEDs too, and the CPU fans started spinning. I suspect the issue is with the RAM since my unit isn’t in the high-end range. It’s a G.Skill flare rig paired with an Asrock B650M Pro Wi-Fi (links below).
The unusual part was after basic troubleshooting—replacing the CPU and RAM, checking power cables—I managed to boot into BIOS, loaded a game, and integrated graphics without a GPU. Initially, both CPU and RAM indicators lit up, then switched to GPU and boot light. Eventually, the BIOS appeared on screen, and everything functioned properly with fans spinning and the CPU running cool.
I adjusted the RAM profile to the rated speed (correctly recognized as Hyix) instead of the default 4800, and after saving changes I powered down and tried again via the GPU. This time it worked—BIOS loaded again, everything working smoothly. I tested two sticks, different positions, but still faced the same problem with CPU and DRAM LEDs.
The positive is I’m confident the hardware isn’t completely failed. However, getting back into BIOS twice makes me a bit puzzled. Is this just a false hope that my rig can run? Are there other steps I should try? I’ll keep testing and see if anyone can help. Thanks for your support!
