It leads to frame loss that becomes obvious only when you're extremely near 60 FPS. At 80 FPS with V-sync enabled on a 60 Hz display, dropping 5-10 frames doesn't really matter.

I understand, but I'm stuck at 60FPS until I upgrade my monitor. That way it feels more natural rather than a compromise. (I expect to hit 60 without these effects, that's the main point.) Honestly, I really enjoy animation quality—so I'd aim for solid 60 in titles with great animations. I choose my settings based on each game; if it's all about graphics or storytelling, I'll prioritize top visuals. For reaction or competitive games, FPS is everything. I didn't realize you were dropping below 60, that was my mistake. It's just a personal taste—I like the look and feel of the graphics, while others might prefer higher FPS.
