I prefer TressFX/Hairworks for its natural look in Tomb Raider style. I didn’t see much change compared to HBAO+ versus HBAO/HDAO.

HBAO+ - Would disable it for hair effects, depends; I’d likely go with the performance. PhysX - APEX Destruction = no, I’d turn it off. APEX Clothing = I’d sacrifice performance. I really like this (I enjoy tweaking it on my models)

I've been experimenting a lot, actually. Witcher 3 always comes to mind when I hear HairWorks, while I didn't really enjoy the Tomb Raider TressFX.

TressFX is a weak version of the hair effect. Companies shouldn’t struggle like Spicy horse did with Alice Madness. It seems great without any serious performance issues.
