Considering your interest in space games, Star Citizen appears to be a solid choice. For a player like you, the Aurora model would likely offer the best balance of performance and features.

There isn't any game involved; you're only getting basic content.

I just made a donation of 60 euros. I could explore the hangar and test out Arena Commander. It seems really promising. Given how transparent the developers are about their project—often sharing updates through livestreams—they provide a monthly summary of their progress. This game might be a real innovator, even though they already have $60 million. Donating more wouldn’t hurt. I’m not someone who usually supports incomplete projects, but since these creators are open and honest, I felt it was worth a chance. If you’re a fan of space-themed games, you’ll definitely love it.

I don't believe it's worth purchasing right now. The actual gameplay is minimal and what's available may change before launch. I'd wait a while, hoping it gets closer to release and more development is in place to justify spending money. I'm not committing funds yet, not because I doubt the developers, but due to the hype and the fear of being let down if it doesn't live up. Still, as time goes on, I'm becoming more drawn to the idea of giving in and buying a ship and the game itself.

They mentioned it will cost more when it launches, so getting it now and having fun is more affordable. However, Alpha won't assess it until the end of 2015, meaning you'd need to buy modules then. You'll have everything at the release in 2016 perhaps? In my view, BUY BUY BUY... But that's likely true for most things  I'm really enjoying this!

I mainly enjoy Arena Commander and Vandal Swarm because they’re really engaging. If you think about investing right now, go for it if you’re in on the project!

Let your desire take over and join the community today! I've invested a lot into this initiative—first for the ships and the game, then to back the developers and the project. It stands apart from other titles, which is something I appreciate. If you wish to contribute to BDSSE, go ahead!

They were likely discussing the first chapter (of four) of Squadron 42, which is about 20 hours long and almost done. It’s a good deal to spend the money just for that, especially since playing the vanduul swarm co-op with others on the forum was worth £27 on its own.
