Check if CPU and GPU are using little power while FPS is slow.
Check if CPU and GPU are using little power while FPS is slow.
Begin by disconnecting from the internet.
Proceed with uninstalling the GPU driver DDU, ensuring a clean process without restarting.
Remove all processors via Device Manager (aim for 16, and when prompted, select no restart).
Access the Control Panel, restart the PC to BIOS, and update to the most recent BIOS.
After updating, return to BIOS, select default or optimized settings, and enable XMP Settings. Save and exit.
Power on the system and install the latest AMD Chipset driver.
Reboot, then select the power plan named "AMD Ryzen Balanced" and connect to the internet.
Install the newest Radeon driver.
Continue all actions offline until the reboot completes after installing the chipset driver. Ensure the PSU connects with a 1 PCIe cable per slot (use the main cable, not branches or splits).
Download required files before proceeding to step one, and follow each instruction sequentially.
Verify Windows Update (and optional updates) are installed, excluding the chipset in the optional update.
Confirm the PSU is connected to the GPU using a 1 PCIe cable per slot (main cable only).
What if I make a mistake and forget to turn off my Wi-Fi, could it affect my system?
I've been playing Fortnite recently and observed that when many players are nearby in a small area, my PC only runs around 60 fps and the frame rate drops significantly. My CPU usage is typically between 50-70%, while the GPU usage is around 40-50%. My system details are: Tomahawk b450max MoBo, CPU Amd Ryzen 7 2700x, GPU Powercolor radeon rx 5700 x8, and 16 gigabytes of RAM. I have no idea where my PSU is located or what steps to take to improve it.
usually its fine, the turn off internet is for preventing windows to automatically update, but did you already done all of that? also what is your ram speed? did you put it on slot 2 and 4?
