Hello! Some might be familiar with my experience sharing about stuttering challenges I faced for a long time and have since stopped talking about them. Recently, my problems seem to be increasing again. After checking with the new GPU I received, it appears I might be reaching a power limit... maybe? In the title, is it acceptable to mention specs like this with an 850W PSU? I think I might not be getting enough power. I run a Corsair RM850x with a 5900X, RTX3060ti OC, 32GB RAM, M.2, a 6TB HDD, Blu-Ray drive, and six RGB fans. Most loads I've experienced in BeamNG with twenty cars pursuing me were around 450W. Recently I added a Blu-Ray drive and swapped a few fans, so perhaps another 10W is being drawn now. I might add an extra 8TB HDD, which could push the total to about 500W. Your specs aren't listed, but 3070-3090 should work with an 850W system, though sudden spikes can cause problems. It seems your PSU isn't likely the cause of the stuttering—usually a PSU failure leads to complete shutdowns or hard restarts. For the stuttering issue, check your motherboard's QVL for the exact RAM SKU/part number. This could be related to a recent build where RAM not in the board's list caused problems. I swapped an older RAM module for troubleshooting, which felt like the motherboard was the culprit and required full disassembly for a return. Service unfortunately couldn't resolve it, so it was sent back. Meanwhile, another machine had DIMMs that failed, and now both seem to be dead. The original build and a test bench are working well with RAM in the QVL. I’d start by verifying that.

I believe it varies. By carefully taking apart a new setup and reinserting RAM/GPU, testing connections twelve times over four months, I didn’t think RAM was the issue. Perhaps for certain processors it’s less noticeable, but I’m certain it made a difference. On the 5900X with an Asus Tuf B550-PLUS board, it worked fine, while the 3600X on an ASRock B450M-HDV struggled with the Ballistix BL16G32C16U4B.16FE x2 I had. Now the ASRock uses Ballistix CL16 BL2K16G36C16U4B (two units), and the Asus switched to Patriot PVB432G320C6K, neither shows stuttering or crashes. Recently, the BL16G32C16U4B.16FE in these machines seems to have failed—neither DIMM boots, suggesting faulty RAM, QVL, or something else.

The 850W provides ample power. Running a 5900X with a 5700XT on a 550W PSU isn't even reaching full capacity. Let's investigate the stuttering problem... 1. Is the latest BIOS installed? 2. Are the newest chipset drivers from AMD available? 3. Have all drivers been updated, including the ioBit Driver booster? 4. Has XMP been applied and removed? 5. Are 3Dmark Firestrike and Timespy scores matching expectations?
I still value your recommendation regarding RAM. But as I previously mentioned, I've tested over ten different RAM kits. It seems unlikely it's the issue. I have a 1300W power supply scheduled for tomorrow. I own an HX850 Plat Corsair that was refurbished. My thoughts: 1. Yes 2. Yes 3. Yes 4. Yes 5. Close enough. I observed that when lowering "FULL" speed in BIOS for my AIO, the system loaded more smoothly. When it was active, saving changes made it difficult to enter BIOS. The PSU might cause instability, as Corsair indicated. AMD is also a factor. Thank you for your feedback.
I’ve already experienced several shutdowns with the OCP/OPP settings on my RM850x, so I can confirm they don’t cause stutter. Instead of continuing with PCIE 4.0, I recommend switching to PCIe 3.0 and check if that improves performance, as this has helped many users resolve similar issues.
