Hey everyone! I’m planning to swap my MSI B450 Tomahawk for an Asus x570 Prime Pro. I’m curious if I really need to reinstall Windows after the motherboard change. I’ll remove all MSI programs and try to delete the AMD B450 chipset driver. Unless there’s any other hardware issue, should I be okay? Thanks for your advice!
You don't have to. After finishing, you can check the Device Manager and locate outdated devices by opening View > Show Hidden Devices.
You may need to confirm your Microsoft account again. In the worst case, you might have to purchase a fresh Windows 10 license, though this is rare. The motherboard contains the product key and is tied to your Microsoft account.
