I don't believe my workload is that demanding. I should also verify if my PC uses 10–14GB of RAM while editing videos. The extra 8GB RAM stick I'm considering is mainly for running Cities: Skylines, which I don't play much of anymore, but it could work on my current setup too.

I completely agree with what @Curious Pineapple mentioned. Opt for a Windows laptop since it doesn’t require MacOS, and they tend to be more affordable, easier to upgrade, and offer better overall value.

According to what I understand, Roblox requires approximately 500MB of RAM. With an 8GB DDR4 3200MHz system, you should be fine.

Also, I might be a bit off. I usually spend most of my time on my main computer. And having two Opera tabs open for about 30 minutes with some editing can use around 6.5 GB of memory.

I don’t believe any solution will be effective for 8 to 12 years. The sandy bridge incident happened after Intel was taken out, and the dam seems to have failed. It was likely an unusual event.

Capacity relates to how fast something operates. For SO DIMMs in a laptop, the issue is about performance rather than just storage size.
