Not sure what the obsession with 5 years is. But same as all your other threads on this general topic, yeah probably. I'm still running 3200Mhz DDR4 and my PC hasn't magically stopped running games.
I’m not sure why I’m fixated on this topic for five years—it functions just as well today as it will in the future, essentially. It’s not cutting-edge DDR5 tech, but it still works fine.
DDR4 offers better value right now. Consider a solid 3600mt CL16 or 18 board paired with a reliable DDR4 motherboard such as the b660 Mag Mortar or Bazooka—avoid overclocking. For those willing to push limits, a z690 works well. The 13600KF is worth considering. DDR5 speeds like 5200MHz are too slow for current DDR4 builds, so prioritize fast DDR4 options. If you’re committed to DDR5 despite the challenges, invest in an extremely high-performance kit.
What speed are you referring to? 6000MHz is a frequency, not a speed.
Prices look quite similar overall. Right now, the most affordable DDR5-4800 CL40 set is actually more budget-friendly than the DDR4-3200 CL14. Do you think there are some DDR4-3600 models available that might be marginally superior to the DDR5-4800?
Compare the prices of a solid DDR5 M.2 slot versus a solid DDR4 M.2 slot. You’ll find you pay twice as much for a DDR4 setup compared to a DDR4 kit once you factor everything in https://pcpartpicker.com/list/mPtW4s DDR4 vs https://pcpartpicker.com/list/GkTrnt DDR5. See the contrast clearly.
