Hi, I'm planning an upgrade and have selected the Ryzen 7 1700 for rendering. Can I overclock this processor with a 520-watt power supply? My current specs are: 8GB RAM, GTX1050ti GPU, 1TB HDD, MSI B350M MORTAR, and an SSD of 120GB.

Using a 1050Ti GPU won't cause capacity problems. It can provide more performance than your system can actually supply before overheating. Achieving the desired frequency depends on several factors like chip quality, grid stability, VRMs, board power delivery, PSU reliability, and a bit of luck.

If your PSU has good quality, you should be able to say yes.

Can I overclock it using this PSU, and what maximum GHz does it support?
