Check how well your motherboard, RAM, and CPU work together.
I'm preparing for assembly and reviewing my components while researching compatibility. I'm checking if everything fits together smoothly. My motherboard and RAM are confirmed to be compatible, which is a positive. Regarding the CPU and RAM, I noticed that while the forum mentioned support up to 32GB, the CPU's specs cap it at 3200MHz. That means it should handle 32GB without issues, but I want to be sure.
If you're looking at a new purchase or haven't bought yet, the Ryzen 5600(X), 5700(X), or 5800X3D is a better choice than the Ryzen 3000-series. You might keep the B450 board or upgrade to B550 for PCI-E 4.0. Regarding the Ryzen 3700X versus the 3600(X), the decision hinged on factors you didn’t mention. For RAM, DDR4-3600 is compatible, but you could potentially lower it to 3400 or 3200 if needed. The IMC in Zen2 architecture isn’t as robust as Zen3, which is why AMD promoted DDR4-3600 and hinted at higher speeds like DDR4-3800.
I probably won’t be able to change them out since everything was purchased over a year ago. Someone familiar helped me with the build, which makes it hard for me to explain why. Back then I had no idea about CPUs, but now I’ve been learning and trying things out, so I asked this question. If I’d known more about CPUs, I might have chosen something different. That would make adjusting easier if I needed to do it myself. Thanks for your assistance!
