Have you explored compatibility options (click right-click on the executable, etc.)? In the most extreme situation, you might set up Virtualbox and launch the game within a Windows 7 virtual machine inside Virtualbox.

Sounds like a similar issue to what I had with FO3. Installing GFWL Disabler fixed the issue for me.
