Hello, I’m experiencing some unusual problems lately. My circuit breaker frequently trips, and power drops in my room when I play Apex Legends or League of Legends. I built the setup in February and as a student, I usually manage to play for about two hours at most. Recently, once I switched from League to Apex, the power went out after playing for over an hour—even if I played straight for an hour and a half. This only occurred a few times when I first set it up, thinking maybe it was a temporary issue with our new home. Now it happens regularly after about an hour and a half or more during Apex sessions.

I’ve looked up similar problems online and considered possibilities like circuit overload or a failing power supply unit (PSU). I moved the equipment to another circuit in the house, but I can’t recreate the exact situation since I don’t have another spot with internet. I’ve also tried unplugging most devices except those that are hard to reach, hoping to lighten the load.

My system runs Windows 11 Pro 64-bit, with an AMI BIOS version A.80 from December 16, 2021 (though newer versions exist). My specs include a Ryzen 9 5900X, RTX 3080, Noctua NH-D15 cooler, and several peripherals. The room has an LG OLED TV, sound bar, subwoofer, phone chargers, a controller, a 1TB WD Black SSD, and a Fractal Design meshify C Things hub. I’m still unsure how to confirm if the issue lies with my PSU or the circuit itself. Please advise.

Run a combined stress test using Prime95 and Heaven on a loop, then monitor for immediate power failure. If stable, proceed to cap frame rates in Apex.

Other components are also present on that circuit.

You successfully completed the benchmarks without problems during extended loops, suggesting your system is functioning properly. The issue likely lies elsewhere—such as resource limits or configuration settings. Capping frame rates in Apex could help by reducing load and improving stability.

All the components on this setup are standard phone chargers—generic phone, wireless charger, and Apple Watch charger. I removed the rest that were accessible or not needed initially, and the issue persisted.

Limiting the frame rate would minimize short-term disturbances in the system, which could be beneficial. Assuming the circuit breaker isn't too sensitive, transients might be the main issue.

It initially functioned briefly, but the problem has resurfaced. It should occur a few times during one or two sessions before resolving for several hours. If I pause and return, the issue may reset for a couple of games.
