Purchased a Ryzen 3600, upgraded with a refurbished A520 S2h and RAM and NVMe components to create an affordable setup for my son. Early on, after some trouble updating the BIOS, the build functioned properly. Initially using a Wraith cooler, temperatures reached as high as 95°C during initial stress tests (Prime 95 and Cinebench). By Monday morning, the system failed to boot—no display, no reboots. Tried all RAM sticks, two motherboards, three graphics cards, but nothing changed. Power supply remains Corsair 650W, CPU unchanged; no alternative chips available. Should I proceed with an RMA or consider replacing it? Or explore other options first?

Are you certain about the other motherboards you tested? Did they include processors suitable for the A520 board? You probably have the most probable issue with your CPU, but even then, there’s little you can do to resolve it. I suggest filing a return merchandise authorization with the vendor. Just to be sure, do you have another power supply available for testing? That would be the only remaining variable.

I’m out of spares now, but I’ll open an RMA and talk to them tomorrow. I might try a 5500 if I can test the replacement. It’s strange how it worked fine one night and then stopped completely—no bent pins, just silence.

Usually things unfold in a straightforward way, without flashy illusions or dramatic effects. Would add more excitement and clarity, just like you prefer.

Today I’m heading back on a road trip to the warehouse for a quick CPU test. It gives me confidence in the results, and I have the chance to choose an exchange or a refund if needed.

It seems like things are going really bad. I got a refund and ended up buying a different model. I'm already stockpiling spare parts, but if it keeps happening, I might need to visit three computers.
