I received a brand new AMD 5 2600 and the original cooler I had in my setup for a 450MHz board. After launching it, idling speeds reached 85°C. I removed the stock thermal paste and applied a better thermal compound. It still maintains around 85°C during idle, and the cooler feels tight. What should I do?

I'm using a smart thermostat to keep track of your temperatures.

He provides strange results, so I wouldn't rely on it.

It could be an issue with the motherboard misreading the CPU temperature.

You can adjust the settings to correct the issue. If it's reading incorrectly, check the input data and ensure it matches the expected format.
