Test the GPU on another platform and switch to a different GPU on your current setup. Checks if the built-in GPU displays a satisfactory result. The 2080ti might benefit from cleaning.

Sorry to hear about your setup. It sounds like you tried cleaning everything thoroughly after unplugging the GPU, but dust buildup in the case fans and GPU fans might have been the real issue. I wasn’t sure if it was overheating or just a matter of airflow. The integrated GPU on your CPU is functioning perfectly, which makes sense since your PC ran smoothly during those games.

It looks like the GPU might be the issue. Try cleaning it or replacing it if needed. If you don’t have another PC, ask a friend to help you test it out. It’s worth checking if a DDU can work in this case.

Do you know anyone or a nearby shop that can help? I think the GPU is past its warranty period (if it's four years old), and if that's why things are going wrong, it's safe to open it up, clean it thoroughly, and put fresh thermal paste on it. Unfortunately, the lifespan of the RTX 2080 and 2080Ti isn't very long—more people are experiencing failures between three to five years.

Well darn the GPU is the most expensive component of them all Sad. Especially since it’s not like an old GPU that I could justify dying by now. It’s a 2080 Ti and it breaks my heart to think it is already defective with only moderate use for 4 years. Maybe I can find a cheap old functional GPU on EBay to test out. Like a GTX 760 or something.

You can reach out to a friend who has access to the GPU and inquire about testing it on their setup. This helps pinpoint issues more accurately.

It would be more crucial to evaluate the GPU on another platform. This approach is correct.

I thought it had expired but the EVGA info says it remains covered for about nine more months. Seems like a mix-up between years—probably from 2019 instead of 2017. Got the timeline mixed up in my mind.
