Smart ideas, though unfortunately laptops no longer ship with drivers on disk: it’s a real hassle. The bigger issue was discovering the newer BIOS locks are in place, but Windows auto-updating my firmware now leaves me stuck with a 700MHz slowdown...

Did you format the USB drive to FAT32? That way, the BIOS should recognize it, and you can access the files by clicking on them.

Yes, having the Quick Format checkbox enabled might affect the outcome.

That doesn't seem important. I just updated my bios to 311, which appears to have a stronger default voltage (it runs faster with 311 than 313 or 310). -- I format the USB stick, extract the bios file, then go to bios, adjust settings, and run ez-flash. The file appears there, you click it, and if you want, you can open it or update the bios.

Windows has upgraded its BIOS today to version 313... but I’ve followed your instructions precisely. It only displays the information from the previous message.

It seems the download might have been saved as a BIOS file that isn't compatible with your system.

I saved it from the Asus site, okay? But don’t worry, Windows seems to have fixed my BIOS without me asking.

Use rollback BIOS settings for ASUS EzFlash 3, then follow the provided link to resolve the issue.
