So basically I got a new monitor and it was functioning properly until recently. A few days ago I started experiencing strange tearing on YouTube and in games. At one point it even went completely black, but it recovered after restarting. Flashforward to today: the monitor goes black again. I can still hear the video playing but the screen is off. After rebooting, it fails to boot and shows an error code. Checking the manual, it says the GPU isn’t being detected. I decided to switch to another monitor and suddenly the GPU showed up and everything worked.
