I considered purchasing a new CPU and later a graphics card such as the 1660ti. I wondered if the CPU would fit on my motherboard. With an existing 8GB RAM stick at 2666MHz, I questioned whether I needed another RAM or if it was more beneficial to keep one.

Achieve a 1600 AF without spending too much on upgrades. Definitely consider adding another RAM stick. Dual-channel Ryzen performance is excellent.

Even without an excellent motherboard, the system can run third-gen Ryzen processors. If you can budget for it, a Ryzen 5 3600 will perform well at its default settings and significantly improve with more RAM. Adding another 8GB of 2666MHz RAM and attempting to overclock it to 2933 will result in a very powerful setup.

If you can budget for it, a Ryzen 5 3600 will perform well at its default settings and significantly improve with more RAM.
