I was searching for a specific RAM module: CORSAIR Dominator Platinum RGB 64GB (2 x 32GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3200 (PC4 25600) Intel XMP 2.0 Desktop Memory Model CMT64GX4M2C3200C16 for this motherboard: ASUS AMD AM4 ROG X570 Crosshair VIII Hero (Wi-Fi). I’m unsure if it will work with the board. If you need, the processor is the 3950x. I don’t want to push speeds beyond the standard 3200, and I’m not interested in overclocking. Getting the 64GB would be ideal, otherwise I just need reliable, decent performance. The release seems recent—maybe only a month or two old—and it isn’t listed on the motherboard’s memory specifications PDF. I also can’t locate it on PCPartPicker, possibly because it’s new. There’s a similar set available in a 4-pack version (CMT64GX4M4C3200C16) which is available for purchase. This is my first build in a while, and although a beginner might assume compatibility, I’m cautious about this particular board and chipset. Memory at regular clock rates reaches 2133mhz. This is the target setting. You'll activate overclocking using XMP/DOCP settings. However, having more memory makes it harder for the controller to maintain the rated speed of each profile. This setup seems aimed at workstations. Most servers and desktops don't use higher frequencies. The stability comes from lower speeds. You trade speed for more units. One stick is ideal. Two sticks in dual channel offer solid performance. A 16GB 2x8 kit from Samsung is costly but often delivers top results with minimal issues. Four sticks at 32GB each are equally demanding or even more so, depending on configuration. You may still need adjustments, even with 3200XMP sticks, since they won't hit the full JEDEC speed in this system. Performance gains usually exceed the base frequency, often called JEDEC speeds. Delay will stem from tighter timing, while data transfer will increase with higher frequency.

I think it’s fair to say I’m still getting my foot in the door here. I work with both 2D and 3D projects using Autodesk and Adobe tools, and I also spend a lot of time gaming. Activate XMP for the simplest fix. This avoids the lengthy manual overclocking process you might not want to undertake.

Don't worry about the QVL lists. Worst case scenario you'll have to do some tinkering to get to the advertised speeds but that's it. But any reason to do with an overclock specific board? Because if you won't use ant of these features. This board is certainly not the best thing for you. For the most part the reason the Corsair kit is more expensive is because of branding. I wouldn’t charge an additional $100 for a minor timing adjustment. The only way to spot it would be through benchmarks, and it would blend seamlessly in everyday use.
