I aim to enhance my PC setup by swapping the Ryzen 5 2600 with a Ryzen 7 5700X and replacing the 16GB 3200MHz Patriot Viper RAM with the G-Skill RipJaws DDR4 4000 dual kit. I’m checking if this upgrade will function properly.

You don't have to upgrade unless you actually require additional capacity. In summary, 3200 offers better performance with AMD's infinity fabric compared to 4000 RAM.

I understand you require additional memory to run Hogwarts Legacy smoothly without interruptions, and I thought upgrading RAM could help speed things up.

You're using a Gigabyte B550 M.2 S2H motherboard and considering a Ryzen 7 5700X with the specified RAM.

You need that last part of the board to complete the picture.

Apologies for the oversight. I didn't notice the previous post (I only receive alerts when you quote or mention me). That's fine, it confirms the 4000 MHz RAM support. The highlighted section refers to Ryzen 7 5700X (Vermeer). The Qualified Vendor List can be found here: https://download.gigabyte.com/FileList/M...b76d7040e3. You don't need to use RAM from that list, but checking it there is a good idea for smooth operation. The RAM you selected (F4-4000C18D-32GVK) isn't listed.

Regarding the CPU, the site explains you'll likely need to overclock beyond official limits. The motherboard doesn't include it in the QVL, so stability isn't assured at 4000 MT/s. You might have to adjust settings in the BIOS yourself. It's also doubtful you'll gain significant performance gains, as discussed earlier.

It should function properly, and in the worst scenario you might need some manual adjustments. Thank you for the assistance.
